Is Smooth Away Effective in Removing Hair?

Smooth Away are hair removal pads that have been around for years in one form or another. For those of us who are tired of razor burn you might be intrigued by this Smooth Away product but does it really work?

The Kit Includes – 1 large and 1 small applicator and 4 large and 4 small  replacement pads

Smooth Away Pros

  • You won’t get razor burn or accidentally knick yourself from using razor blades.
  • You don’t have to prep your legs with lotion or cream. You simply put it on dry legs.
  • Removes hair while exfoliating your skin.
  • Completely painless.  It kind of feels like rubbing super fine sandpaper on your skin. I’m sure if you push to hard you’re skin could get irritated.
  • It does work reasonably well if you have thinner hair.

Smooth Away Cons

  • Doesn’t work well if you have medium, course or thick hair .
  • You’ll always have to be buying more pads since you go through them fairly quickly. You’ll be  using at least one large pad for each leg. The expenses could add up!
  • When the pads are brand new they are very effective. Once you start using them they lose their effectiveness.
  • It won’t remove the entire hair follicle like waxing will.
  • You may feel some irritation on your face if you use it on your upper lip.
  • I’ve seen a news report where two ladies reported seeing mysterious charges on their debit card after ordering from the Smooth Away site. Please be careful when ordering. Make sure you’re not signing up for other programs when you order. Un-check all the boxes, etc.

Smooth Away can be found at Bed Bath and Beyond stores if you want to give them a try. If you buy them online they are $15 plus s/h you can get a second kit for free.
